Morris Moor, located at the former Phillip Morris Tobacco factory in Moorabbin, is a site with a sixty year heritage and close ties to the local community. As part of the ambitious redevelopment of the 62,700sqm precinct, an opportunity was presented to restore the famous chimney for its next chapter.
Appreciating the unique nature of such a design brief, we set out to create an unexpected expression of the Morris Moor name - one that would still remain timeless but act as a talking point for the storied landmark.
The chimney was painted entirely in gold, with the Morris Moor typography had painted in dark gold, transforming its industrial heritage into one with a golden glow across Moorabbin.
